SPORT- former arsenal and man city midfielder banned for six months

Former arsenal and Manchester City midfielder samir nasri has been banned by european football regulatory body UEFA  for doping 
The treatment contravenes World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules which led to a Spanish Anti-Doping investigation against Nasri.
UEFA confirmed the six-month ban in a statement on Tuesday, which read: "The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) has rendered its decision following disciplinary proceedings opened on 6 March 2017 against the player Samir Nasri for violation of the UEFA Anti-Doping Regulations.
"The player Samir Nasri has been found guilty for using a prohibited method in accordance with sub-section M2, par. 2 of the WADA Prohibited List.

DRUG ABUSE: secondary school student took ten tablets of tramadol and dies

The Abia State Commandant of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr. Akindele Akingbade, has disclosed that a Junior Secondary School student in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, whose identity has yet to be known, reportedly died after he allegedly took 10 tablets of Tramadol. Akingbade stated this on Wednesday in Umuahia while delivering a lecture at a seminar organised by his agency, Office of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Narcotics and Abia State Drug Abuse Control Committee. The seminar was organised for patent drug dealers in Abia Central Senatorial District. He pointed out that the student was said to have taken the tablets to enhance his performance during an inter-house sports competition being organised in his school. EDUCATION- oau workers disrupt jamb mock exams

 Some non-teaching staff of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, have disrupted the mock examination of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in the school premises. The mock examination was scheduled to hold on Monday within the OAU premises, being one of the centre approved for JAMB CBT by the examination body. The Centre Coordinator, OAU ICT, Dr Sururah Bello, told reporters during an interview in Ile-Ife, Osun State, that the examination could not hold after the non-teaching staff stormed the centre. She said the striking union members were aggrieved due to the fact that the Joint Action Committee, an umbrella body of the three unions, declared that the earned allowance earlier given to the management should be withdrawn.
